The North Georgia
Bagpipe Ensemble

(NGBE)

The North Georgia Bagpipe Ensemble (NGBE) is a student pipe band based in North Fulton, GA. The NGBE gives new pipers (adults and youth) the opportunity to learn the following:

  • Educate individual bagpipers on how they can contribute to a pipe band.

  • Promote quality playing and performing as part of a bagpipers development

  • Foster the proper techniques needed to perform on the Great Highland bagpipe.

The North Georgia Bagpipe Ensemble meets in the sanctuary of Roswell Presbyterian Church on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 pm. Tom Crawford is the NGBE pipe major and can be reached at tom@occasionalmusic.com. Mike Bangs is the NGBE business manager and can be reached at michaelbangs@gmail.com.

Roswell Music Jam

Roswell Music Jam meets every Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. We alternate between different genres each week. Click here to view the calendar.

The Roswell Music Jam is a direct growth of the musicians of Roswell Presbyterian Church. One Sunday Morning in Spring 2022, between the end of Sunday School and the beginning of Modern Service, a few of us were sitting in the lobby of Alderman Hall. Three of us had our guitars since we had played for Sunday School youth. We pulled out our guitars and started playing Blues, Bluegrass, and such. Roswell Music Jam was born. We then worked with the church staff to see if we could create an official group with the following parameters: on a weeknight, community-facing, welcoming to all levels of musicians, and with a focus on teaching and community. We average between 30-40 people per Tuesday who come to play Bluegrass, Blues, Folk, and Americana. We split into groups of about ten players by genre and skill. All are welcome and encouraged.
