Eat. Pray. Serve. – Middle School Ministry in Action

Written by Kerri Irwin, Director of Middle School Ministry

Every Wednesday from 5:30–7:00 p.m., Roswell Presbyterian middle schoolers gather for Eat. Pray. Serve. Led by Victoria Robinson, Kerri Irwin, Cole Sanridge, Clay Boyles, and Spencer Bissell, students share a meal, pray together, and take on hands-on mission projects.

What started in fall 2023 with just three students has now grown to 18–25 each week. Building on RPC’s On Core program, this ministry helps kids stay connected, make friends, and discover the joy of serving others.

Middle school can be tough, but on Wednesday nights, these students find laughter, support, and purpose around the dinner table. As they pack hygiene kits, prepare meal bags, or make gifts for mission partners, service becomes more than a project—it becomes community and a way to follow Jesus.

Throughout the year, students team up with Roswell Presbyterian Volunteers (RPV) and other groups to make a real difference. Projects include:

  • Assembling hygiene kits for North Fulton Community Charities

  • Preparing summer meal kits for Must Ministries

  • Creating stockings and Easter baskets for children in foster care

  • Making blankets for Bosley’s Place rescue nursery

  • Designing a scarecrow for Family Promise at the Roswell Women’s Club Boo Y’all event

Whether praying for a grandparent, cheering on a friend before a test, or making sandwiches for those in need, these middle schoolers show they are not just the church of tomorrow—they are the church today!

Eat. Pray. Serve. is open to all 6th–8th graders. Learn more at www.ryex.org

At Roswell Presbyterian Church, we believe that living out our faith means serving others with compassion, generosity, and commitment. Through "Mission In Action," we share stories of how God's love is made visible in the world—across the street and around the globe. Whether feeding the hungry, sheltering the unhoused, educating the next generation, or responding to crisis, we partner with local and international ministries to bring hope and healing. This blog celebrates the hands and hearts of RPC members and friends who put their faith into action, bearing witness to the transformative power of service in Christ's name.
