Frequently Asked Questions

Can I watch on my personal computer, smart phone, or tablet?
Yes. Look for the "view livestream" button for the service you want to watch using the Church Online Platform. Find the button on the center of the website homepage, www.roswellpres.org. On Sunday mornings, the pre-service slides will begin a few minutes before the service, giving you time to prepare your worship space.

The configuration to stream from our Church Online Platform (roswellpres.online.church) differs depending on your device. The Traditional Worship Livestream is www.roswellpres.online.church, and the Modern Worship Livestream is www.roswellpresmodern.online.church.

Can I watch on my TV?
Sure! YouTube on your smart TV or streaming device makes streaming easy. Be sure to subscribe to the RPC YouTube channel and our livestream video will be easy to find on Sunday morning.

What if I don’t have a smart TV?
Below are links with instructions or applications for streaming to your TV using a personal computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Helpful Hint: Many people like to have the live stream chat open on a second device while watching the service on TV to participate in real-time conversation with staff and congregation members. To join the fun, go to roswellpres.org and click view live stream on your phone, tablet, or computer.

What browser should I use?
Participants may use Google ChromeMozilla Firefox, and Safari.
We suggest any current browser that supports HTML5.

Why is my connection buffering or stopping?
If your internet connection is slow or having trouble, the stream may pause. You can select the stream quality manually; to set your quality, click the video and choose the quality setting you desire. Try a lower quality and see if that allows you to view with fewer pauses.

You can also try a speed test! Visit https://www.speedtest.net/ and tap GO! Speeds under 10 MBPS will likely cause choppy video. If that’s the case, try moving closer to your router at home or call your internet service provider for help!

I see the video but I don’t hear anything. What’s happening?
Most browsers don’t automatically play the audio from a video playing on the site. To get the sound to start, simply click the video or click tap to unmute.

If you still don’t hear audio:

  • Check to make sure speakers are on and that your volume is up on your device.

  • Check to make sure the volume is up on the video itself. The sound settings are located in the bottom bar of the video player.

  • If you’re still having trouble, unplug any external audio device (headphones, speakers, etc.) and test using your built-in speakers.

I’m seeing an error message, or the video isn’t showing. What can I do?
First, check the time. If it’s not a time that we’re broadcasting, you won’t be able to watch the service. We livestream our 10:45 a.m. modern service and our 11:00 a.m. traditional service.

If the service is currently being live-streamed, you might need to refresh to get it to show (this usually happens if your connection gets interrupted for some reason). Just press the refresh button (the circular arrow at the top of your browser) to see if that corrects it.

How can I access the chat feature during a livestream?
Chat with other people who are watching the worship at the same time. When you watch the live stream on a personal computer, smartphone, or tablet using the Church Online Platform, it’s easy to connect with others.

  1. Go to roswellpres.org and click the live stream button for the service you want to watch. Traditional Worship Livestream is www.roswellpres.online.church, and the Modern Worship Livestream is www.roswellpresmodern.online.church. This will take you to the Church Online Platform.

  2. On the right side of the page, there is an active chat occurring. This chat is most often hosted by either staff or volunteer members. You can say hello, visit with others while watching, request prayers and ask specific questions about the life and mission of RPC.

I don’t see the chat, How can I access it?
First, make sure you're watching on RPC's online platform! Head to roswellpres.org and click on view live stream if you're not there already. Most of the conversation happens there!

Check to see if your video is fullscreen. If it's fullscreen, you won't see the chat features. Make sure you're using Google Chrome. It's the most reliable browser for watching church online! Get it here. If you're still not seeing the chat, try refreshing your page.
