Beethoven’s Ninth - Joy at Scale
Sunday, October 19 and October 26
12:15 p.m.
Alderman Hall Center
Join us for a two-part class exploring the life, faith and genius of Ludwig van Beethoven, culminating in his magnificent Ninth Symphony. We’ll trace his journey as a composer and examine the spiritual and cultural resonance of his work — especially the final symphony’s powerful message of joy and unity.
Each session includes a light lunch and prepares us to experience a live performance of Beethoven’s Ninth with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra & Chorus. Attendees are encouraged to attend the performance on Sunday, November 16 at 3:00 p.m., but alternative performances are on Thursday, November 13 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 15 at 8:00 p.m. All performances are at the Woodruff Arts Center - 1280 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309. Tickets to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concert in November must be purchased separately.
Come discover why this symphony continues to inspire generations with its joy — scaled to the heavens.
