Georgia is now the world’s leader in film production – bigger than Hollywood -- with multiple sound stages and thousands of great locations! Last year, 320 film and television productions were shot in the state. Southern hospitality seems to be as big a draw as our beautiful weather and gorgeous scenery!
Ric Reitz – Atlanta president of the Screen Actors Guild – will appear at RPC to reveal the secrets for luring the industry’s best-known stars as well as the impact of their productions to Atlanta.
Reitz is a celebrity actor, writer, director, and producer. He has appeared on stage, in television and movies, most recently with Michael Keaton in “The Founder” (the story of McDonalds), opposite Jamie Fox in “Sleepless Night” and under the direction of Ang Lee in “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.” He is also president of the Atlanta chapter of SAG-AFTRA (the union that represents actors, key industry players and more).
Reitz will describe his own movie industry experiences in Atlanta and share how Atlantans can find their way into films as extras! The program, open to everyone, is sponsored by Wit and Wisdom.
