Update from the PNC (Pastor Nominating Committee) - May 26, 2016

PNC Update - George Dunaway & Lori Howell, Co-Chairs - Sunday, May 22, 2016

To the Congregation of Roswell Presbyterian Church,

We wanted to take a moment to update you on the work that is being done by your Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC). As a reminder, RPC's congregation selected 11 members to lead the search process for Roswell Presbyterian Church's next Senior Pastor, and the PNC has been meeting weekly since January 2016.

The Presbytery of Greater Atlanta has provided the PNC with a Pastoral Leadership Transition Plan. It is an outline of the necessary steps in conducting this search for our next Senior Pastor.

We are excited to share we have completed an important step in the process, the creation of a job description called the Ministry Information Form (MIF). The MIF not only describes the experience and competencies required for the role of Senior Pastor but also reflects the heart of RPC and its members. The Presbytery and RPC's Session have now approved the MIF, and the PNC will move forward to post the position nationally by the end of this month.

Ways you can be involved in the process:

  • Refer potential candidates for Senior Pastor to the PNC. You can email the PNC directly,, with this information.
  • The PNC is conducting a few Listening Sessions to clarify some of the requirements for RPC's next Senior Pastor. If you are interested in participating in a possible group, please email the PNCRight now, the spots for the Listening Sessions on Sunday, June 5 have been filled, but future Sessions may be added.
  • Continue to keep the PNC in your prayers. RPC's Prayers & Squares Ministry created a beautiful Prayer Quilt for the PNC with each of the members name on it. As this quilt makes its rounds throughout the congregation, we invite you to tie a knot in the quilt and say a prayer for our next Senior Pastor and the PNC as we continue this search process.

We will continue to keep you updated on the PNC's progress through emails, messages from the pulpit like we did this past Sunday, and on the PNC page of the RPC website.
