Lent is a time of reflection. When I reflect on my journey to this point in my life, to this town, to these people, and to this church, I have one consistent theme... Faith. My faith has been, at times, the only thing that has stayed true about my belief in my relationship with God. When all other things seemed blurred, my Faith was clear.

I was honored and excited and mostly apprehensive when asked to write a Lenten Devotional. I have never done anything like this and admit I have only owned my own Bible for a few months. What it forced me to do is put my Faith into Action. It required me to explore the meaning of Faith and it solidified for me, that my Faith in Jesus was exactly what brought me to this point in my life.

The Bible tells me in Hebrews 11:1: Faith is confidence in what we hope for and the assurance about what we do not see. I have limited knowledge of scripture and this topic had me searching all things related to Faith in the Bible. I came across Proverbs 3:4 which says: Let love and faithfulness never leave you, bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. They you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and people.

In my time of reflection during this Lent season, I am grateful, confident, and assured that if I have nothing else to hold on to, I have Faith and with that, I have God's Favor.

Dear God, thank you for faith! Thank you for the favor that you give to me even when I do not feel or deserve it. Amen
