"Be still, and know that I am God!" - Psalm 46:10 (NRSV)

As in all of our lives, we all have ups and downs. Highs on the mountain top equal great moments in our lives, but there are those valleys which equal a low point in our lives.

I found myself in a very low, dark, and sad valley in my life. This particular journey was very deep and scary. I had to figure out how to get out of this black hole. I did not know how to do this other than to do it myself!!!!! I had to fix it, control it, and take charge of this trip through the valley.

This valley was getting the best of me. I was not coming out of this valley as fast as I needed to. I could not control or fix this particular time in my life. What is going on?? Every day I seemed to get down on myself and really had a hard time getting out of bed.

Nothing I was doing was working, and I found the more I tried to change it, IT was not changing. Until one day I had had enough! I just stopped. I got on my knees and turned it over to God. The message I heard was BE STILL. I am here… I got this! Let go girl!

And I stopped. I let go, and I focus on and meditate on the word all along keeping Psalm 46:10 always present. Be Still and know I am here. How awesome is that!

God, thank you for being so close when we are in a pit. May your love pull us out and up and onto dry ground. Amen
