In Loving Memory of Dr. Lane Alderman...

Into the Church Triumphant The Reverend Dr. Edward Lane Alderman, Jr.
June 19, 1954 ~ April 14, 2016

We want you to be quite certain about those who have died, to make sure that you do not grieve about them, like the other people who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and that it will be the same for those who have died in Jesus: God will bring them with him. - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14a

In Loving Memory of
Dr. Lane Alderman

Pastor Emeritus

June 19, 1954 - April 14, 2016

It is with deep sadness that we let you know that this morning our beloved Pastor Emeritus Lane Alderman passed away and joined our Lord and Savior. As Lane told us many times, there was never a day in his life that he was not keenly aware of the love that God had for him. Lane was surrounded by his family at his death, and as the weeks leading up to this point revealed, Lane was filled with the peace and hope of Christ.

Please join us in praying for Ellie, his wife of 39 years and his children, Ashley Alderman, Daniel Alderman, Daniel's wife, Desi and their infant son, Paul Edward. Lane is also survived by his parents, Capt. and Mrs. Edward L. Alderman, and his sister, Claire Alderman Pratt and her husband, Roger, and their children and grandchildren in Washington, DC.

This is a tough time for all of us as we remember the amazing man, husband, father, leader, shepherd, inspiration, role model, pastor and disciple that Lane was in this life. In celebration of his life, a memorial service will be held in the Sanctuary at Roswell Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Lane requested that donations be made to the church he served for 20 years for the continued ministry through the reduction of capital debt (www.roswellpres.org/onlinegiving). A significant part of Lane's ministry included leading the congregation of RPC in the expansion of its physical campus. This was recognized earlier this year with the renaming of Fellowship Hall as Alderman Hall.

The Sanctuary will be open for a time of prayer and reflection tonight, Thursday, April 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. RPC's Associate Pastors will be present for those that would like to talk to or pray with someone. The Church Office will be closed tomorrow, Friday, April 15.

But this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. - Lamentations 3:21-23
