HOPE. PEACE. JOY. LOVE.
Sunday, December 6 - Second Sunday of Advent
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39
When we had a family crisis five years ago with the illness of our son we felt hopeless. We prayed and through prayer we gained strength. We found peace and felt God's love from Jesus. I am sure that without our faith we would have suffered much more. We remember our son every day and know that he is well in heaven.
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We know he performed miracles as a man here on earth. Most importantly he died for our sins, so that believing in him they would be forgiven. The forgiveness ensures us hope, joy, peace, and love in today's world.
So let us approach this Christmas with a heart that is ready to receive our Savior by giving of ourselves, studying God's word, loving our neighbors, praising God, and being faithful disciples.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the greatest gift, your son. In Jesus name. Amen
