A Letter to the Congregation from Rev. Lyndsay Lee Slocum...

Dear Friends,

I am writing to update you on a change regarding our staff.

Last week, Sarah Kate DeWyngaert, our Director of Children's Ministry, accepted a position as Director of Children's Ministries at Morningside Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. Morningside has a rich history that includes a recent period of rapid growth. They now have a large population of children and need a gifted person to establish and build a strong children's ministry. Morningside is getting a tremendously talented woman for the job.

Sarah Kate's last Sunday with us will be September 27 and her last day in the office will be October 1.

Sarah Kate has served our congregation faithfully for over three years. Her impact on our children's ministry will be felt for many more. It is impossible to quantify how many lives have been touched by Sarah Kate's ministry, and I am going to deeply miss working and serving alongside her. I know we are a stronger church because of her gifts.

We have already begun to work on filling the vacancy left by Sarah Kate's departure. I will be working with our volunteers and leadership teams to ensure a strong and active ministry throughout the year. Under the direction of the Personnel Committee, I will be assembling a search committee to find leadership for our children and their families.

We are blessed with a strong and faithful staff. We celebrate Sarah Kate's contributions to Roswell Presbyterian Church and rejoice with her as God continues to lead her into new and exciting avenues of ministry. Many blessings to Sarah Kate!

Blessings,
Rev. Lyndsay Lee Slocum
