30-Day Prayer Devotional for RPC - Day 4

Day 4

This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. - Joshua 1:9

Dear God,

We know that our Church Staff and Pastors face numerous challenges every day. We know they must make tough decision in their workplace about things like budgets and schedules, programming and leadership. We know they are faced with difficult conversations with each other, with church and Presbytery leadership, and members of the congregation. Lord, we pray that you would help our Pastors and Staff be strong and courageous in what they do. Help them not to be fearful of the tasks that lie ahead for them. We pray that they would feel your presence as they have those difficult conversations, and Lord, that they would know you are with them when they walk into those situations. Help them to not be fearful or discouraged, but to truly feel your presence and your guidance wherever they go.

Lord, we know our PNC needs to feel strength and courage, too. Help the PNC members to not be fearful of making the choices that they face or discouraged by the details of this process. This is a slow and laborious task, Lord, and we pray they would not be discouraged by how long it seems to take to make decisions, or frustrations with candidates or one another. Help our PNC to hear your voice and to know you are with them as they labor over their decisions and to know, God, that you are truly in charge of this process.

Lord, grant us all peace in this process. AMEN.
