30-Day Prayer Devotional for RPC - Day 2

Day 2

But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.
- Isaiah 40:31 (NRSV)

Dear God, it seems like such a very long time to us that our church has been experiencing transition. People whom we loved dearly and respected immensely are no longer part of our Staff. Not only do we miss them as people, but the voids they left in the office chairs have left a heavier workload on those who remain in the Church Office. Lord, we pray for our Pastors and Staff as they deal with this burden and attempt to manage extra duties. We pray that they would trust you daily, God, in the little things and the big, that they would turn all things over to you. Grant our Pastors and Staff a new strength, Lord, so that they do not grow weary. Help them to not be overwhelmed by their daily tasks or the projects that loom ahead. Instead, provide our Pastors and Staff stamina to work efficiently and resourcefully to accomplish their tasks and goals. And may all of those goals glorify you.

We pray the same for our PNC as they endeavor in the search for a Senior Pastor for Roswell Presbyterian. We pray that they would surrender completely to you, Lord, putting their trust of this process completely in you. Strengthen our PNC as they work long hours and attend numerous meetings. Provide them focus as they review resumes, hold discussions, conduct interviews, send and read emails, and everything else they do as part of this search. Grant them the strength to not grow weary, but provide them with energy to complete this great assignment.

In your name we pray, AMEN.
