30-Day Prayer Devotional for RPC - Day 19

Day 19

"So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today. - Matthew 6:31-34

Dear God,

It is so easy to get caught up in the details of our lives, so simple to obsess about the minutia of our days. We make plans and more plans and then worry about how they will get done. We worry because we are afraid and cannot see what lies ahead for us. Lord, we pray for the Pastors and Staff of RPC, that worry would not consume them. We pray that their lives and attitudes would be so focused on you and the glory of your kingdom that they would be assured in all that they do. You know all of their needs and hold each of them in your mighty hands, Lord. May they each feel a sense of peace in understanding that.

Making tremendous decisions on behalf of RPC brings its own worries, God. Concerns about budget, about the "right fit", about teachings and preachings and personalities - and so many more. Lord, do not let the members of our PNC get bogged down by their worries. Instead, call them to focus on you and your kingdom so that when they are prepared to make a choice they can make it with confidence and assuredness in you. Give them peace about their decisions because they have the knowledge that they made them with you in mind only.

We ask all these things in your name, AMEN.
