Mission Outreach
Christian mission may be summarized as our call to participate in God’s reconciling work in the world.  It is not focused on what we do, but what God is doing to transform the world, including us.   As we participate in God’s redeeming work, we will meet Christ and grow in our love for Him
and his world.

What good is it to say you have faith but have no works? James 2:14

Mission Outreach Council takes our call to discipleship seriously and offers you a chance to put your faith in action. Christ calls us to serve him by loving our neighbors, and we have a host of opportunities for you to demonstrate that love and engage your faith. Explore the missions listed on this site, and contact any of the
champions or Jennifer Squires. Locally, we encourage you to get involved with AHMEN (Affordable Housing Ministries Enhancing Neighborhoods) as well as numerous other mission programs. Globally, you have the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Guatemala as well as Brazil, Kenya or other youth mission trips. If you cannot go, our missions still need your daily prayers and support.

The primary funding for all our mission outreach projects is the
Faith in Action Offering. The challenge in 2008 is to raise $375,000. In addition, you have the opportunity to support the Hunger Fund collected on the first Sunday of every month.

As you get involved in God's mission outreach beyond the walls of our church, you will witness the living Christ in the world. Not only will you make a difference in someone's life, Christ will transform you as well for “as we do unto the least of these we do unto Christ himself” (Mt. 25:40). God is inviting us to experience the Kingdom of God here on earth.  Come serve with us!

Each summer RPC is engaged in actively sharing the gifts God has given by serving in remote villages of Guatemala. Our mission involves:

§          Vacation Bible School in Chichicastenango (ChiChi), Chulumal and Quiche.
§          “Extreme Home Makeovers” in the villages of ChiChi and Chulumal.
§          The completion of the second story at the Chulumal school.
§          Clean Water Project
§          Health and Education
§          Amor Del Nino (Love The Child) Children’s Home - a small home whose purpose is caring for children with handicaps and disabilities.
§          Guatemala Educational Fund
§          Interval Medical & Planning Trips

The Guatemala Mission has increased over the past 6 years…in mission team size, the opportunities we encounter, the families and the children we are able to serve, and the relationships that continue to grow and strengthen. This mission trip and mission effort is for all who want to come and make a difference.

The 2008 Yucatan project focused on further construction of a manse and sanctuary in Becanchen, a remote rural village in the southern part of the state.
