Today kicks off the season of Advent. The word advent comes from the Latin word for
“coming.” Advent is the season when we remember and celebrate the three ways that Jesus
comes to us: when he was born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago, when he comes into our hearts
daily, and when he promises to come in glory at the end of time.
If you feel anything like me, you know that waiting can be hard. So, please join me during this
season of Advent in reflecting on what it means to wait as the people of God. We have much to
learn from those who waited for the arrival of the Messiah in Bethlehem so long ago.
Waiting with you,
Rev. Jeff Meyers
