Seven Last Words of Jesus: Why Have You Forsaken Me? - Sunday, March 8, 2015 - Rev. Brad Clayton

Good Morning,

Today is the third Sunday of Lent and we are continuing our sermon series on “The Seven Last Words of Jesus.” With his last breaths, Jesus only quotes one passage of scripture from Psalm 22. The words are tragic, even heartbreaking, and they prove to us the depth of Christ’s pain on the cross. The words from Psalm 22 are unsettling for us all, because we are all afraid of being forsaken. Why does Jesus choose these words? What should we do when we are faced with moments when we think God has forgotten us? The story of Easter proves to us that God is still with us even in those moments of our greatest pain. I look forward to worshipping with you today.
