Seed Spirituality - Sunday, September 4, 2016 - Rev. Zac Morton

*This is the complete 11:15 a.m. worship service from Sunday, September 4, 2016

Without seeds life would not be possible. That statement sounds melodramatic, but it's true! Unless you are a farmer, however, you've probably never considered how integral seeds are to life on this planet. Seeds are not a very glorious or glamorous part of the world, so why would we pay any attention to them? Yet a seed is a powerful symbol of our potential for extraordinary growth and transformation. Seeds shape the landscapes of our world, the food we put on our plates, and the cultures we have developed. There are few aspects of our lives that cannot be traced back, in some way, to a humble beginning in a seed.

Today, we are going to pay some attention to the humble seed. We will consider how Jesus used the image of a seed as a metaphor for our spiritual journey and explore how this metaphor informs our work at The Mustard Seed Project and our individual spiritual journeys with Christ.
