A few nights ago we gathered as a congregation and celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Since then, most of us have given and received gifts, eaten at least one delicious piece of food, and said to another “Merry Christmas!” It has been a whirlwind of wonder, joy, peace, and hope.
Our scriptures in the Gospels move quickly from the birth of Christ to Jesus as a young boy. And so as much as I want to stay kneeling before the Lord in the humble manger, we must too move to look at a different Jesus. I am delighted that you are with us today to worship Immanuel. I pray that each of us experiences the presence of the living God and the love of community this morning.
