Life Together: The Dual Journeys of Friendship - Sunday, August 28, 2016 - Dr. Mark Brewer

*This is the complete 11:15 a.m. worship service from Sunday, August 14, 2016.

One of the reformers observed, “the person who will not have the church as their mother cannot have God as their father,” this points to a deep reality of belonging to the Church. Many Christians think they’re just fine without the hassles of belonging to others but they are deceiving themselves. The Church is not merely an organization doing good things like a Rotary Club or PTA. Nor is it some kind of secret society trying to avoid the world. The Church is made up of those who belong to the mystical Body of Christ.

As we finish our series of learning how to get connected here at RPC, we learn how essential spiritual friends are to our lives. Not only do we need them to help us in our dreams in life outward, but they are crucial in helping us get to know ourselves. I trust this morning we take the next step in creating healthy connections with others.
