Plato said “a friend is one soul shared by two people.” The richest person is the one with true friends. This is particularly true in our spiritual lives.
As we wrap up the summer and move into our fall schedule, we are going to look at getting more connected as a spiritual family at RPC. One of the great pastors, and martyrs, of the church was Dietrich Bonhoeffer. As he watched his beloved church in Germany get shoved into World War II, he found the power of Christ was found in community. His classic book "Life Together" will guide us the next few weeks as we rediscover the joy of making true spiritual friends.
This morning we examine the “physics” of the Spirit and some of the ironies involved. I pray we learn to journey through this life together as we worship the Christ who said "I don't call you my servants, I call you my friends.”
