Life Together: God's Presence in Community - Sunday, August 21, 2016 - Dr. Mark Brewer

*This is the complete 9:45 a.m. worship service from Sunday, August 21, 2016.

As Presbyterians we often use the theological term "Triune God". Just a fancy way of saying we believe in one of the greatest mysteries of all, that is, One God but Three Persons.

There are many attempts to try and find a good example of what we mean by the Trinity but they all fall short. The reason is that God is not one in a series of events, but is unique. The fantastic truth behind it although, is the foundation of the cosmos is relationship. That is the reason our highest highs and lowest lows come from our relationships. We are made in the image of this relational God and the struggle to develop healthy relationships is the primary call in life.

As we continue our fall kickoff and connecting to our spiritual family at RPC, we are using Dietrich Boehoeffer's classic work "Life Together" as a guide. This morning, we examine the wonder of God showing up when we connect with the Body of Christ that is the Church. I hope we enjoy a fresh connecting to the source of life Himself this morning.
