This morning we are going to look at one of the most preached sermons - Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Matthew recognizes it as Jesus' first address and the entire sermon takes three chapters. It is a powerful text about the authority of Jesus and the way we are called to be in relationship with others. We will not have time today, but I hope that you will take some time this week to read the entire Sermon on the Mount. It can be found in chapters 5-7 in the book of Matthew. I have also included an outline of the sermon on the back of the bulletin to help you as you study it.
This is a fantastic day for us to gather together and worship. My prayer is that God will teach us powerful things through our interaction with scripture this morning and that we will be more faithful people because of it.
