I am a total fool!
We have this unwritten rule in my family, no one should call anyone else a name, unless you are talking about yourself. So, I am calling myself a fool to you all this morning - a fool for Christ. As a believer in Christ, I am called to believe, act and obey in ways that the world around me sees as foolish. Giving money to an institution, like the church. Sharing my areas of weakness with a community. Worshipping a God that I cannot touch. Waking up early on Sunday mornings. What a fool I am!
Being a fool for Christ is something that the Apostle Paul considered a great honor. My prayer this morning is that we will see this as well. The years roll by and change is constant - new pastors, new presidents, new teachers, new bosses, new relationships, new laws.
Friends, Christ is our constant. Christ is our cornerstone. May we be fools for Christ.
