This morning we will continue our sermon series, Be Multiplied, as we explore what it means to be generous with the gifts that God has given us.
I am so grateful that I have parents who modeled for me what it looks like to be generous. I can still vividly remember Dad writing the check each week to put in the offering plate in worship. There were plenty of times that Mom and Dad did not have all the money they wanted for other things, but yet they still placed the envelope in the offering basket when it was passed at church. Because of their generosity and faithfulness, I learned what it looks like to have faith to be committed to giving to the church.
Our scripture lesson today will introduce us to a woman who struggles to be faithful and generous when so much around her calls for devastation. How do we maintain a spirit of generosity when we are not sure of our very own situation? Let's talk about that today! May God bless our worship time together!
