Today is the first Sunday of Advent, the time that leads up to Christmas. The word “advent” comes from the Latin word for “coming.” Advent is the season when we remember and
celebrate the three ways that Jesus comes to us: when he was born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago, when he comes into our hearts daily, and when he promises to come in glory at the end of time. But where does Jesus come from?
We will try and answer that question in our Advent sermon series, Advent Family Tree. As we look at the family tree of Jesus, we will discover that an important part of living our lives into the future involves wrestling with where we come from. (Note: If you have a perfect family tree, you might not find this series very relevant :) !)
With Advent Blessings,
