2nd Mile: Then and Now: New Life - Sunday, April 30, 2017 - Rev. Mary Cox

*This is the complete 9:45 a.m. service from Sunday, April 30, 2017.

We are in the 2nd Sunday of our 2nd Mile for Mission campaign when we share stories of how God is working through our mission partnerships. The stories help explain the importance of our financial support as “every dollar goes out the door.” Last week we heard from Dr. Clara Herrera about how Neighborhood Action Ministry is making a difference in the lives of our neighbors in the Aspen Pointe, Oaks at Holcomb Bridge, and Grove Way Apartment Communities. Clara highlighted how RPC volunteers share the love of God by showing respect and dignity to adults and students through the relationships they are nurturing. That is what the people of God do!

Today, we will take time to thank God for a particular group of the RPC faith family – our graduating high school seniors! We will have the opportunity to hear from a few of the students during worship and I hope you will offer a prayer for all as you look at our own “photo album” enclosed. God has indeed used countless Sunday school, Bible study, retreat, and mission trip leaders to help form a foundation in Jesus Christ for these who are entering the next season of their lives.

I am so glad you are with us today as we continue to see God at work, Then and Now.
