Lent 2018

Holy Week 2018 at Roswell Presbyterian Church

Palm Sunday, March 25 to Easter Sunday, April 1

Our Lenten Sermon Series will focus on the Seven Deadly Sins. These sins - like anger, envy, and pride - are also referred to as the glittering vices.
They appear shiny, almost even attractive. But what we discover is that they prevent us from becoming the people God has created and called us to be. We will discover together how to eliminate them from our lives so that we can flourish in the way that God intends.

You can sign-up to receive information and updates about Lent 2018 at RPC as well as the daily devotionals.

Lenten Devotional 2018
Focus on God's Faithfulness

The purpose of the season of Lent is to intentionally take time to reflect on Jesus' life and journey to the cross. The Lenten devotional is a tool to help people reflect on this journey.

The theme for this year's devotional is FOCUS. So much of lives we end up focusing on the wrong things. We focus on our jobs, families, bodies, friends, self, and tons of other things. How might our perspective on all things in our lives change if we focused more on our faith?

This year we want to make the devotional more accessible for families with children. In order to do that we have included some devotions that are written by families. We encourage all of you to engage with your children using this devotional as a tool.

Additionally, you will find some days where you are encouraged to read Scripture and reflect. This comes from our Lectionary which divides the Bible into reading segments over a course of three years.

Daily devotionals will also be posted to the RPC Facebook page and the Roswell Pres blog. You can also download a copy or pickup a copy at the Church Office or from the Welcome Center on Sundays.

Lent Art Exhibit 2018
Focus on God's Faithfulness

Dessert Reception
Wednesday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. in Alderman Hall Lobby

Come meet the artists and learn more about their work.
Submissions are on display on Lower Main Street (main hallway from North Tower entrance to South Tower entrance).

During the Lenten season, our sermon series will focus on the Seven Deadly Sins as “glittering vices” that lure us away from God and into places of faithlessness. So many of the scriptures that we’ll hear during worship will remind us to seek God’s divine power and our daily bread while being reminded to constantly turn to God as “Christ is all and in all!” Artists might choose to express their faith journey and witness to God’s Faithfulness in many ways. These ways might be glimpses of personal time spent in God’s creation or in study/reflection, or in other ways we see God’s constant faithfulness surrounding us.
