“I wanted to stop time. So I hiked the Appalachian Trail ... Everyday was a surprise. Every week something in me changed -- probably forever,” says Ray Appen, Alpharetta newspaper publisher.
Come hear Appen’s amazing story about the extreme exhilaration and dangerous challenges hiking and climbing the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail. Learn that the journey is as spiritually enriching as it is physically demanding.
After lunch, Ray’s photos and stories will take us along on his amazing journey and introduce us to a few of the hundreds of fellow hikers from around the world he met. “They were of all ages – from 17 to 85 -- girls, men, women, moms, grandparents, dogs, rednecks, and vets,” he says.
