onCore - Wednesday Evenings

Building faith relationships is what onCore is all about!
We want kids to know that faith and fellowship doesn’t just happen on Sunday mornings!

Children and adults gather for food, fellowship, Bible study, choir, and fun with their church family.

What Happens at onCore?

Pre-K through 5th grade begin the evening at 5:00 p.m. in Alderman Hall with family-style dinner. 3-year-olds meet in their classrooms.

At 5:25 p.m., children disperse by grade to either choir or Bible study for 25 minutes and then switch to the other activity. Families have the option to finish the evening at 6:30 p.m. or stay through electives and finish at 7:30 p.m.

Dinner is family-style in Alderman Hall. Children receive a table assignment and Table Parents for the entire year. These groups enjoy their dinner together and build relationships throughout the year. Each week, dinner has a special theme!

Bible Study
Children are divided by grade-level for Bible study. Bible lessons on Wednesdays are expansions of the lessons done on Sunday mornings in Sunday School with the Deep Blue Kids curriculum.

The Children's Music Program at Roswell Presbyterian Church is designed to help children develop a love for music through participation in church and worship, as well as grow an appreciation for church music that will last a lifetime. Choirs are divided by grade-level.

Only have time for Choir? No problem. Register for "choir only" at no cost!

Electives are additional activities that elementary children have the option of participating in from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Electives are 30 minutes each and children choose which activities they participate in. Options change during each term, but range from handchimes, recreation, drums (Fall Term only), art, LEGO club, and FISH (Fit, Strong, and Healthy) Kids (Winter Term only).

F2 Bible Study & Leadership

We recognize that 4th and 5th Graders are ready for a more mature Bible study setting outside of Sunday School. 4th and 5th Graders are part of a Leadership program on Wednesday evenings as part of the onCore program, which we call F². Children are divided by gender for Bible study and then come all together for F² Leadership. In Leadership they learn about the different aspects of leadership in the church, they plan and implement a worship service, create statements of faith, as well as plan fun events throughout the year for their peers.

onCore Parents/Volunteers

The participation of parents is critical to the success of onCore. We require at least one parent from each family participating to volunteer with the program. This not only provides the staffing necessary, but it also demonstrates the parents’ belief in the importance of Christian nurture. There are lots of ways to help out: Table Parents, dishwashers, dinner servers, Bible teachers, choir helpers, shadows, and electives leaders.
