Affordable Housing Ministries
Enhancing Neighborhoods (AHMEN)
Most of our members know that AHMEN is our affordable housing ministry; however, this ministry keeps adapting as it grows. With great thanks to Minnie Bowden for all her leadership, we are welcoming two new leaders to take her place and give her a rest. There are so many different ways to get involved that we encourage you to see the lists below and contact the liaison to volunteer or learn more.
Homestretch: A transitional ministry for homeless families offering a home and program up to two years. Work with one of two RPC sponsored families. Be on a mentor team, budget advisor, office volunteer, cook meals, etc. Contact our RPC liaison: Dottie Akin.

Drake House: a transitional ministry to homeless mothers with children and offers up to 60 days to transition to a more long-term situation. Work with one of two RPC sponsored families. Be an advocate or mentor to a family; office volunteer; painting and small repairs; teaching life skills classes, etc. Contact our RPC liaison: Alice Wasson

Habitat for Humanity: In October and November RPC will join with a number of other congregations for an ecumenical build on Hwy 9 just above Windward Parkway. Our church will be responsible for two or three Saturdays yet to be determined. Come build this fall with us. Contact our RPC liaison: Mike Dooley.

AHMEN Housing Corporation: the community agency initiated from our church whose purpose is to preserve and develop affordable housing in the Roswell/North Fulton area. It has two primary programs: 1) helping working families making about $35,000-$55,000 afford to buy a home; 2) advocating and helping our North Fulton community set a vision for affordable housing including rental and ownership. Volunteer as a family mentor, budget counselor, teaching life-skills, assessing/acquiring properties, grant writing, or with the Advocacy team researching, strategizing, and collaborating with community and city leaders. Upcoming renovation schedules will be determined. Contact: Jennifer Squires or Ann Coker.
