In 2005 recognizing the needs for the many orphans the need in the area. The leaders of
PCEA Nakuru West began construction of children’s home.
The number of children in the home and the plans are to eventually house 400 children.
Further plans include starting up a farm on the property to use goods for sale in local
towns as a revenue source for the home.

Q: How is the Tumaini mission center progressing and current construction, number of
children in the home and in the school?
A: Tumaini mission center is progressing well. The ground breaking ceremony was recently
held for the dormitory. Construction should be starting soon and plans are to have part of the
building completed by next school term. The current number of students at Tumaini center are
160 with 61 orphans and two IDPs, the rest are regular students from the community.
