Details:
Founded in 2004, The Drake House offers emergency residential housing for women and children in North Fulton County, just outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
The number of people in need of help in the North Fulton community is increasing at a higher rate than the capacity of the existing service agencies. Women and children have become the fastest growing segment of the homeless population, with children alone comprising 43% of Atlanta's homeless population.
None of Atlanta's temporary housing facilities serve the North Fulton area. Families forced to relocate into the city disrupt children's school lives and mothers' job opportunities.
