Tentative Brazil Mission Trip in 2010 in September.
A mission trip to the Brazilian city of Fortaleza and the community of Cipo is tentatively planned for September 2010. The team will observe the progress made by farmers who have received RPC donations to increase production of their agricultural products by using updated, better farming and animal husbandry methods. The team will participate in the ministries of the Messejana Presbyterian Church, which supports impoverished communities and sponsors a soup kitchen for needy families. Team members will visit with children in a day school in the slums of Fortaleza. More information will be available later this year. Details:
Although the public elementary and high schools are free in Brazil, they offer a poor quality of education. Only
a small percentage of these students make it into college. However, our mission partner Manoel Andrade, with his vision
of the PRECE educational method, has been working miracles since 1994. Through his grass roots efforts, over
2,000 students in Northeastern Brazil now have a real chance to pass the examinations required to enter the university.

Where does RPC fit in? Our gifts have supported a chaplain and programs for the university students. Each
year, we plan to send a mission team to help with construction, to observe PRECE programs in progress and to interact with the students and local churches.
