Guatemala

Each year since 2002, RPC has been engaged in actively sharing the gifts God has given us by serving in remote towns and villages of Guatemala, particularly Chichicastenango, Chulumal, and Quiche. Our mission involves three trips to this area each year: in the spring to provide professional medical services and to plan for future needs of the communities we serve; an eight-day trip in June to execute plans for school and home construction and renovations, Vacation Bible School, worshipping with our Guatemalan friends, recognizing our scholarship students with a special dinner in their honor, visiting the children of Amor del Nino (Love the Child), and serving in many other ways; and a fall trip to attend to the medical needs of the residents of these communities. 

Our mission involves: 
*        Vacation Bible School in Chulumal and Quiche.  
*        “Extreme Home Makeovers” in the villages of ChiChi and Chulumal and home construction in the surrounding area. 
*        Construction projects at the Chulumal school. 
*        Clean Water Project. 
*        Health and Education. 
*         Amor Del Nino (Love The Child) Children’s Home - a small home in Guatemala City whose purpose is caring 
          for children with physical challenges and disabilities. and those who have suffererd abuse and neglect. 
*        Guatemala Educational Fund and Scholarship Dinner for our sponsored students.
*         Interval Medical & Planning Trips

Information about the June 2011 Mission Trip will be presented in the near future. For 2010 , the cost per person was $1,000 for RPC youth, $1,350 for RPC adult, and $1,550 for non-members. A completed application form is required along with a signed release, waiver, and Medical Consent Form (youth only). Contact Lisa Jennings to learn more about the trip this year and the plans for 2011.
